Former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar was attacked in prison, according to new court documents.
“According to court docs filed by his public defender, Jacqueline McCann, Nassar was assaulted within hours of being released into the general population back in May at the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, AZ,” TMZ reports .
The attack was reportedly pretty brutal; Nassar was injured during what is being described as a “physical” ambush, but the extent of his injuries are unknown. (RELATED: The Rock Responds To Dad Who Tried To Attack Larry Nassar)
Nassar is essentially serving a life sentence in prison. He was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography and another 175 years in state prison for sexually assault young girls. The disgraced former doctor has been accused of sexually abusing 265 women over the course of about 20 years. Nassar’s first sentencing was emotionally grueling for everyone involved, but the doctor apparently hasn’t had enough, since he just filed for a re-sentencing on Wednesday, alleging Judge Rosemarie Aquilina was not an “unbiased and impartial judge.” Nassar’s attorneys claims Aquilina decided to impose the maximum penalty on Nassar before he was even sentenced.
