Fallout 76’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ cover officially releases today, with all of its proceeds going to the non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity.
About a week ago, the video game publisher and developer Bethesda revealed that all of the proceeds for the “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover featured in Fallout 76 will help fund the non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity. Today, the song has officially released via iTunes, and fans can own the track while also giving their money to the charity by only having to spend a single dollar.
According to the track listing on iTunes, Fallout 76‘s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover and single was performed and recorded by COPILOT Strategic Music + Sound, which is a New York-based music content and strategy company that was launched in 2008 by Executive Producer Jason Menkes and Creative Director Ravi Krishnaswami. Other noteworthy projects attached to the music group includes an original arrangement of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman” for Dishonored 2 – another game backed by Bethesda to use a cover for promotional purposes, interestingly enough.
While Fallout 76‘s initial teaser trailer included plenty to be excited about – the promise of a West Virginian and Blue Ridge Mountain locale, revamped franchise staples such as a new numbered Vault and jumpsuit, and more – it wouldn’t have shone without the “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover. Without a doubt, the song’s musical beats helped introduce and punctuate each scene with equal parts verve, vivacity, and even poignancy.
Now that Fallout 76 fans can obtain what will likely become the forthcoming online multiplayer role-playing game’s official anthem, it will be interesting to see how many copies are sold before the title releases later this year. At any rate, sales of the “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover will certainly be a boon for Habitat for Humanity, as it will assist the NGO in furthering its mission to build affordable homes and housing for those in need.
Fallout 76 is set to release on November 14,2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
