In celebration of Fortnite’s 1st birthday, Epic Games has released a set of themed challenges including one that requires players to find cakes scattered around the map.
In honor of Fortnite’s first birthday, Epic Games is holding a number of celebratory festivities, from special cosmetic giveaways to new themes for the battle bus. But perhaps the ones that have players the most intrigued are the 1st birthday celebrations for Fortnite’s Battle Pass.
Luckily, a Reddit user that goes by the name thesquatingdog has created a helpful map that outlines all of the Fortnite Birthday challenges, including the location of all the birthday cakes. Under normal circumstances, Fortnite players would need to wander around aimlessly looking for these cakes, but the below map will help them concentrate their efforts.
Once players find a cake all they need to do is dance in front of it. They can use one of the base dance emotes that come free with Fortnite Battle Royale, or they can choose to use one of the many dances that have been added since the game’s release, like the Orange Shirt Kid dance.
As with most collectibles in Fortnite, these are well scattered around the map, including the new desert biome areas. Players will not likely find all of them within a single match, especially if the storm circle closes in on a specific area. It does seem as though a lot of the cakes are close to each other, though, so it shouldn’t take more than a few matches to get the challenge done.
In addition to the cake dances, players need to complete two other challenges for this week’s Battle Pass. Those are a little easier though; one requires playing 14 matches in the Battle Royale mode and the other asks players to deal 1,000 points of damage. But really it’s the cakes that are the themed portion of this week’s challenge for the Fortnite 1st Birthday celebration.
While this week is all about celebrating Fortnite’s 1st birthday, Epic is only celebrating the release of the game as a whole, not Battle Royale. Some may remember that Fortnite was originally released in early access as a combination tower defense and horde mode game. However, once Epic Games built in a Battle Royale mode everything changed, and the title became one of the biggest games in the world.
Fortnite is available now on iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
