After the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 in 2017, comes the Galaxy Tab S4, an updated slate with upgraded hardware and a brand new design. The Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to be released with the Galaxy Note 9, making it two premium devices being launched on the exact same date. The leaked render of the upcoming tablet will show readers of what to expect from the upcoming device.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will feature decent audio quality because it has been tuned by AKG, a well-known acoustics brand. Instead of the 9.7-inch screen of the Galaxy Tab S3, you’re getting a larger 10.5-inch display with the Galaxy Tab S4. If you take a look at the render, the tablet features slimmer bezels, just like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, so Samsung can keep the dimensions of the tablet the same without making it unnecessarily large for the average user.
There is no fingerprint sensor present in the tablet, which can also mean that the tablet will not feature any sort of fingerprint biometrics to unlock the device. There might be an in-screen fingerprint sensor, but if the Galaxy Note 9 is expected not to come with it, then we surely cannot believe that the tablet will get this upgrade.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to feature a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which is the same technology used in its smartphones. The resolution of the tablet is said to be 2560 x 1600 pixels, along with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Galaxy Tab S4 will not feature the Exynos 9810 or the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm. It will instead feature Qualcomm’s chipset from 2017.
That chipset is the Snapdragon 835, which is made on the same, but less efficient 10nm FinFET technology. Samsung will most likely be doing this to reduce costs, but alongside with the chipset, you will also be getting 4GB of RAM, and a massive 7300mAh battery capacity. Looks like Samsung wanted to increase the screen of the tablet because the Korean company might have wanted to take on the iPad Pro, which also features a 10.5-inch screen, but there is also a version that features a larger 12.9-inch display.
The tablet will also include a 12MP camera at the back and an 8MP snapper on the front. In terms of storage, the tablet is expected to pack 64GB of internal memory and allow the user to upgrade that storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot. On the software front, the Galaxy Tab S4 could launch with the Android 8.0 or Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with Samsung’s custom skin running on top. Similar to the Galaxy Tab S3, we expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy Tab S4 in Wi-Fi only and LTE variants.
Samsung has not officially released the price of the Galaxy Tab S4 in India, so whatever the readers are going to read here, do note that these are not the original price details but have been provided on currency conversions only. If the Galaxy Tab S4 will feature a price tag of $699, then it means that the tablet is going to cost Rs. 48003.83 in India, making it quite an expensive tablet.
However, the design changes, the screen size increase and the powerful specifications will mean that you will have to pay a higher price, and can also mean that the Galaxy Tab S3 price will reduce as a result of the release of the newer model.
