Demi Lovato was partying all night before her overdose on Tuesday.
According to sources who were with the pop star at the time, Lovato was celebrating her backup dancer’s birthday at the Saddle Ranch bar and restaurant the night before her overdose.
Attendees claimed the 25-year-old was “happy and lucid” when she was out at the West Hollywood party venue. But she eventually made her way back to her house in Hollywood Hills, California, and continued partying there, which is when things took a turn for the worst. When the call for help finally came in before 12 p.m. local time, none of the partiers were still around.
“It’s unclear when the party broke up, or if people scattered once it became apparent Demi was in trouble,” TMZ reported .
Medical professionals have not disclosed what Demi overdosed on, but we do know she was given the anti-opioid treatment Narcan at the hospital. Initial reports suggested the singer took too much heroin, but sources close to her are refuting these claims. Demi has struggled with addiction to cocaine, alcohol, and oxycontin in the past.
