Samsung is all set to unveil its 2018 flagship, the Galaxy Note 9 at its launch event next month. Even with the outpour of recent leaks which hasn’t left a lot to the imagination, we are excited to experience this handset in all its glory. In the meanwhile, we try our best to gather all the information we can about such devices as soon as something new pops up. And so we have a new NCC certification listing from Taiwan which is claimed to be of the Galaxy Note 9. Let’s take a look at what new information this listing provides.
The new listing spotted by 91mobiles on the NCC website is for a phone with a model number SM-N960F/DS which is expected to be the Galaxy Note 9. According to the listing, this phone offers support for dual-SIM. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything else this listing reveals.
Samsung confirmed that it will be holding a launch event for the phone on August 9 in New York. Teck geeks in South Korea expect the phone to start sale from August 24. Pre-orders might begin from August 19. We have had other leaks in the past which revealed three new colours for the upcoming phone – Midnight Black, Coral or Deep Sea Blue, and Teddy Brown. A report before that showcased a Lilac Purple version of the Galaxy Note 9.
Just yesterday we reported the leak of a new product from Samsung called the Wireless Charger Duo which is expected to launch alongside the new smartphone. Unlike previous wireless chargers from the company, the Wireless Charger Duo is said to be able to charge both the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Note 9 handset at the same time. This device is expected to be priced at £55 (approx. Rs. 4,972).
The Note 9 is likely to feature the same Infinity Edge display design as its predecessor. This Super AMOLED panel is expected to measure 6.4-inches and offer a Quad HD+ 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. In most international market, the phone is expected to sport a Snapdragon 845 SoC while Indian markets will likely receive this device with an Exynos 9810 chipset onboard. For the storage department, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to offer 6GB of RAM with multiple storage variants such as 64GB and 128GB. There is even a chance we might get a variant with a whopping 512GB of internal memory. However, this model might only make its way to the South Korean market.
As for its imaging prowess, the Galaxy Note 9 might be equipped with a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup at the rear. We still don’t a have a solid confirmation regarding the front camera. As for the software, the phone is likely to feature Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. This would be accompanied with the new and improved Bixby 2.0 voice assistant. The included S Pen is also said to be more versatile with the added support for Bluetooth connectivity. Keeping the lights on is rumored to a be a 4000mAh battery. This will certainly come with support for some type of fast charging.
Samsung is probably going to launch the Galaxy Note 9 somewhere around the Rs, 69,999 price point in India. This price is likely to be for the base variant with the higher storage models prices considerably higher. Hopefully, the launch if this new smartphone leads to price cuts for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus models.
