An employee was injured in an explosion and fire at a fireworks plant in Missouri Tuesday, the day before July Fourth.
Locals reported a loud explosion near the AM Pyrotechnics plant in Pleasant Hope to dispatchers, and when firefighters arrived, they witnessed multiple explosions inside the building, according to Fire Protection District Chief Jake Agee.
Most of the employees had gotten out of the building before emergency crews had arrived, but one woman who worked at the plant had to be rescued from inside and was later airlifted to a nearby hospital with injuries, KY3 reported .
