NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker recently launched its new Android One smartphone Mi A2 at an event in Spain. The company has now revealed the India launch date of the smartphone. As tweeted by the company the Xiaomi Mi A2 will launch in India on August 8.

Successor to the last year launched Xaomi Mi A1, the Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1080×2160 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and offers stock Android experience to its users.
The Mi A2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 64GB onboard storage and there is no support for microSD card. The dual SIM smartphone comes equipped with a dual rear camera placed vertically on the back panel. The handset offers 12MP primary sensor with LED flash, f/1.75 aperture and Sony IMX486 sensor, while the 20MP secondary camera comes with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/1.75 aperture. There is also a 20MP front shooter with soft LED flash. The company claims that the camera is made for low light photography.
Measuring 158.7×75.4×7.3mm, the smartphone comes with 3,010 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support. This the first smartphone to come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0. Along with this, the company has also ditched the 3.5mm audio jack for the smartphone and has replaced it with USB Type C. The Type C port can be used for both listening to music and charging the device. The company will also be giving a connector with in the box.
On the connectivity front, the handset offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFI, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type C.
