Google Pixel 3 may copy iPhone X’s ‘biggest’ feature

Tech giant Google has finally revealed the name of its next version of Android. Named Android 9 Pie, this is the first ever gesture-based navigation system of Google. This means that users can now use gestures to control their smartphones instead of the three soft touch keys.
NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google has finally revealed the name of its next version of Android. Named Android 9 Pie, this is the first ever gesture-based navigation system of Google. This means that users can now use gestures to control their smartphones instead of the three soft touch keys.
Smartphones users who will receive Android Pie update will have the choice to use the traditional three soft touch keys or the gesture control features. However, the yet to launch Google smartphones will not have the same option. According to a report by Android Central, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will not come with the traditional touchscreen buttons.
This means that with Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, users will get gesture-based navigation. The display will consists of the home and back button which will be located on the left and will appear only when it is necessary.
The report further adds that the company decided to do away with the multitasking button because their user diagnostics highlight that very few people use it on regular basis. During some tests performed, the company also found out that the new gesture system was loved by the users and it enabled them to quickly jump from one app to the other.
Recently, it was reported that the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It has been also rumoured that the smartphone will be sporting a display notch like the iPhone X. The notch is said to comprise of dual front-facing cameras on either side of the earpiece grille. A front-facing speaker can also be seen below the display at the chin. We might hear about it more as the launch time frame comes close.
