Niantic and Pokemon Go a working on a new ‘Switch a Team’ feature, allowing players to change their team.
There are three teams in Pokemon Go, Team Instinct, Team Mystic and Team Valor. Each team has its own team leader, mascot and color:
Team Valor (red) – Candela (leader), Moltres (mascot)
Team Mystic (blue) – Blanche (leader) and Articuno (mascot)
Team Instinct (yellow) – Spark (leader) and Zapdos (mascot)
Players can’t change their team at the moment, but that will change as Niantic confirmed that they’re working on adding this feature to Pokemon Go. How do I change my team?
“We plan to add this functionality to Pokemon Go in the future. We are working on a few other big features first, so we don’t have an estimate on when changing teams will be possible.”
