A few hours back, Samsung New Zealand accidentally posted an official Galaxy Note 9 introduction video on its YouTube channel, revealing a few key features of the upcoming flagship phablet. The Galaxy Note 9’s retail box and pricing details have also been leaked online now, courtesy of Dmitriy Ryabinin from Hi-TechMail. RU.
The leaked image showing the Galaxy Note 9 retail box confirms pretty much all the key specifications of the device, which means we no longer have to wait until August 9 to find out everything about Samsung’s next big flagship device. According to the retail box, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution. While the resolution has not been mentioned on the box, it is likely that the Galaxy Note 9 will have the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio as the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. The chipset hasn’t been mentioned on the box, although it is more or less confirmed that the phablet will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9810 chipset in most markets. In terms of memory, the Galaxy Note 9 will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. However, Samsung will be offering a 512GB storage variant as well, which could perhaps come with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone will have a microSD card slot as well, allowing further expansion up to 1TB.
Now let’s go over the camera specifications of the Galaxy Note 9. The phablet will be equipped with a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup on the back Similar to the Galaxy S9 Plus, the primary 12MP sensor will be coupled with an f/1.5/f/2.4 dual aperture, while the secondary 12MP sensor will be coupled with an f/2.4 aperture. The Galaxy Note 9 will also come with Dual Pixel AF and 960fps slow-motion video recording. On the front of the phablet will be an 8MP AF selfie camera. In terms of battery life, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be a significant improvement over its predecessor, thanks to a large 4000mAh capacity battery. In addition to fast wired charging, the phablet will come with fast wireless charging support as well. Some of the other key features revealed by the latest leak include Samsung Pay support, an iris scanner, stereo speakers tuned by AKG, S Pen with “remote control”, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, and AKG earphones in the box.
According to Dmitriy Ryabinin, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be available in 128GB and 512GB storage variants in Russia. While the 128GB variant will retail for 69,990 RUB (Rs.75,800 approx.), the 512GB storage variant will cost 89,990 RUB (Rs.97,500 approx.). Color options will include Blue, Copper, and Black.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be launched in India around a week after its global debut. Even though it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, there is a good chance that the Galaxy Note 9 will be available online exclusively via Flipkart. Some recent reports have suggested that the Galaxy Note 9 might be available for pre-order in the country starting August 19 th. The phablet is tipped to go on sale at Flipkart as well as offline stores across the country starting early September.
As for the pricing, we expect Samsung to launch both the 128GB and 512GB storage variants of the Galaxy Note 9 in India. While the 128GB variant could be priced slightly above the Rs.70,000 mark in India, you can expect the 512GB variant to cost around Rs.85,000.
