White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders slammed Democrats during Wednesday’s press briefing as reporters tried to trap Sanders with « gotcha » questions regarding the recent legal developments of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former Trump personal lawyer Michael Cohen.
Sanders began the press briefing by expressing the Trump administration’s sympathies to the family of Mollie Tibbetts, the 20-year-old girl from Iowa who was allegedly murdered by an illegal alien.
The media showed zero interest in the story or the Trump administration’s plans to combat illegal immigration; not one reporter from the press corps asked a single question about Tibbetts or anything immigration related.
Sanders responded to a question about whether the White House was concerned about the possibility of impeachment by saying, « The idea of an impeachment is frankly a sad attempt by Democrats as the only message they seem to have going into the midterms »
Sanders later slammed Democrats for trying to stop Trump’s Supreme Court nominee from being confirmed, saying, « This is a desperate and pathetic attempt by Democrats to obstruct a very highly qualified nominee. The hearing date has been set for September 4th and Judge Kavanaugh will be there. »
