ANN ARBOR — The Michigan football team has another departure on its hands.
Wide receiver Eddie McDoom has opted to leave the program, team spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed to MLive on Wednesday.
McDoom was spotted leaving the football building in Schembechler Hall earlier today with garbage bags, six days into the start of fall camp.
He did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but McDoom’s departure marks the fourth from a wide receiver this offseason.
Maurice Ways (California) and Drake Harris (Western Michigan) pursued graduate transfers in the spring. And last week, junior Kekoa Crawford was left off Michigan’s 2018 roster.
Neither Crawford nor Michigan have confirmed his departure, but he was not present for the start of fall camp.
The 6-foot, 187-pound McDoom was still listed on Michigan’s roster as of Wednesday, a sign that he intended on being part of the team this fall. He played in 12 games during the 2017 season, catching 11 passes for 81 yards as a slot receiver.

He figured to be in the mix at the slot again this season, alongside senior Grant Perry, though redshirt freshman Oliver Martin is also expected to get a look. The Wolverines return their top receivers Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tarik Black, who missed nine games last season due to injury.
McDoom, of Winter Garden, Fla., was a four-star prospect in 2016 according to ESPN and Scout. He caught 16 passes for 160 yards as a freshman.
His departure marks the fourth signed wide receiver from Michigan’s 2016 recruiting class to leave the program, following Crawford, Ahmir Mitchell and Nate Johnson (dismissed).
Michigan has experienced a glut of departures on the offensive side of the ball in recent weeks, including Crawford, running back Kareem Walker, a former five-star prospect, and tight end Tyrone Wheatley, Jr .
