Rumours suggest that the Poco F1 will take on the likes of the OnePlus 6
Xiaomi’s newly announced Poco is all set to launch its first smartphone in India today, called the Poco F1. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone maker has teased the Poco F1 for quite some time. Via the teasers, the company has revealed some of the key details of the upcoming Poco F1. So far, the teasers have confirmed that the Poco F1 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 – the chipset that runs most flagship phones these days including the OnePlus 6. Xiaomi sub-brand has further revealed that the Poco F1 will be available exclusively on Flipkart and most likely on Xiaomi’s own offline store – Mi Home.
While announcing the Poco brand earlier this month, Jai Mani, who has now been re-designated as the Head of Product of Poco Global revealed that the upcoming Poco F1 will come packed with some of the premium features seen on flagship phones, at a much lower price point.
Xiaomi sub-brand has confirmed that the Poco F1 will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset. One area where the smartphone maker is emphasizing for the Poco F1 is its powerful performance. Poco is teasing the Poco F1 with the tagline « master of speed ». Meanwhile, the landing page of the Poco F1 on Flipkart notes that the smartphone will be « blazing fast speed at all times ». The company has also revealed – via one of the teasers – that the Poco phone will come with LiquidCool Technology — which will basically prevent the phone from heating up after heavy gaming sessions or rigorous usage.
The Poco F1 will come with AI-based dual camera setup on the rear panel, the company has confirmed. The megapixel count of the cameras, however, is yet to be revealed by the company. Some leaks, however, reveal that the smartphone will come packed with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Rumours also reveal that the smartphone will pack a dual-pixel autofocus lens. Meanwhile, the front camera detail is yet to be revealed by the company, but some leaks suggest that the Poco F1 will pack a 20-megapixel camera with Super Pixel tech. Furthermore, the company has been touting its low-light camera abilities. According to some of the official teasers, Poco F1 will come with the ability to capture great details in low-light situations. « Poco F1 can see you in the dark » the company has been teasing.
Some other teasers reveal that the Xiaomi Poco F1 will come with iPhone X like notch display, 3.5mm headphone jack, and run Android 8.1 Oreo customised with Xiaomi’s own MIUI skin. Rumours further reveal that the Poco F1 will come packed with a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a big 4,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The pricing of the phone is still a mystery. But, rumours suggest that the Poco F1 will take on the likes of the OnePlus 6. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Poco F1 is expected to cost somewhere under Rs 40,000.
