YouTube has just announced a big milestone for its livestreaming television service, YouTube TV. The company has expanded the product into its 100th service location, making it available to people in parts of Tennessee and Virginia. With the expansion, YouTube TV is available in most of the nation’s big cities and metro regions.
In a tweet this afternoon, YouTube announced that YouTube TV is now available in Kingsport, TN, Johnson City, TN, and Bristol, TN/VA. This builds upon the large number of cities where YouTube TV is already available, including NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, and many more.
YouTube TV originally launched at a flat $35/month rate, offering a large roster of local channels and cable networks. The service’s current channel lineup includes popular offerings like ABC, FOX, NBC, and CBS, as well as news channels like CNN and MSNBC, kids offerings like Disney Channel and XD, sports via ESPN, NBC Golf, MLB, and more.
As with competing companies, YouTube TV also offers several add-on channel options, such as Showtime for an additional $5/month, Starz for $9/month, and AMC Premiere for $5/month. Following a price increase earlier this year, YouTube TV’s base rate is now $40/month.
