The Fortnite Port-a-Fortress is « coming soon » to the game, according to the in-game messaging, but what will it do? Here’s what we know!
The new Fortnite Port-a-Fortress item has popped up in the “Coming Soon” section of the in-game menu. Those booting up the game will be able to see the teaser image and description. The new Port-a-Fortress equipment enables players to “take defense to new heights.” It certainly sounds interesting, and looks like an evolution of the already awesome Port-a-Fort. I guess we can think of this as a souped-up version! Here’s everything we know so far about the Fortnite Port-a-Fortress!
If you’ve been hoping for another meta-shifting item to be added to the game, you could soon be very happy indeed. The Fortnite Port-a-Fortress description reads: “Toss down the Port-a-Fortress and take defense to new heights.”
As we saw with the game-changing Port-a-Fort, which immediately spawns a towering platform beneath a player’s feet, these tools can really change the tide of battle. With the Port-a-Fortress taking defense “to new heights,” I think we can assume that the new item will act in a similar way, only with a taller tower. It’s also probably going to wider, too, making the Port-a-Fortress even more impressive.
If the Port-a-Fortress is going to be super-powerful, I think we can expect Epic Games to balance that by making it pretty rare. Of course, we’ll likely see limited time modes that increase the spawn rates of rarer items, and those are sure to be a blast with all players using Port-a-Fortresses to try and get above the competition.
It’s not yet clear if the Port-a-Fortress will replace the Port-a-Fort. The latter could well be added to the vault, where it may be tweaked until its eventual return.
Expect to learn more about the Port-a-Fortress release date and additional details during the week ahead. Epic Games normally teases upcoming patches the day before they drop.
