Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch its Galaxy A9 Pro smartphone at an exclusive event in Malaysia on October 11. While there is no official word from Samsung yet, the Galaxy A9 Pro is rumoured to be Samsung’s first smartphone to run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. Samsung has remained tight-lipped about the launch of the upcoming
Galaxy A9 Pro, however, with the device being expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor, some key specification can be guessed.
Chipmaker Qualcomm had launched its new 700 series of Snapdragon processors in May this year with Snapdragon 710 as the first processor in the lineup. The Snapdragon 710 is claimed to perform better than the Snapdragon 600 series and has some features of the flagship Snapdragon 800 series of processors.
The new Snapdragon 710 platform aims to provide customised AI experience for users through its multi-core AI Engine and claims to boost performance improvements in AI apps as compared to Snapdragon 660. On the imaging front, the Snapdragon 710 offers a Hexagon 685 DSP and Spectra 250 ISP. There is Qualcomm Aqstic Audio for overall system audio boost along with in-built security core. With Spectra 250 ISP, users can expect better low-light photography reduction, fast autofocus, image stabilization, smooth zoom and real-time bokeh effects. The Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP is designed to deliver resolutions of up to 32MP single ISP and 20MP dual ISP. Also, this will support deep portrait modes and Face Unlock with active depth sensing.
The Snapdragon 710 features 4K HDR playback for viewing HDR videos and apps. This is for the first time this feature is available outside the premium Snapdragon 800 series.
Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch its
Galaxy J4 Plus smartphone along with
Galaxy J6 Plus in India at an event on September 24.
