The annual technology trade show IFA 2018 is going on in Berlin and this year the companies are focusing a lot on IoT and AI. World’s second largest smartphone maker Huawei also launched two IoT devices: one is a smart speaker and other is the Huawei Locator.
The compact dongle like device claims to offer better location tracking with the help of satellite location data.
The company has included GPS, A-GPS, Galileo for reception in the device. The Huawei Locator is backed by a 660mAh battery which promises to offer 15 days of standby time. Like the other tracking dongles available in the marker, the Huawei Locator will also be paired with the smartphone. The device sound an alarm as soon as you move beyond the radius of 32 feet.
It also comes with an inbuilt buzzer also warns users if they are about to leave something behind. The device can be attached to your car keys, bags and even your pet dog.
The device also comes equipped with NB-IoT and eMTC the new cellular wireless standards for IoT. The Locator also consist of an SOS button and comes with IP68 rating which makes the device dust and water resistant. Measuring 1.95 x 1.5 x 0.67 inches, the Huawei Locator is one of the smallest tracker. Presently the company has not yet revealed any information about its price and availability.
Along with the Locator, the company has also announced new colour variants for its Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones. The customers will now be able to purchase both the devices in two new colour options — Morpho Aurora and Pearl White.
Apart from this, if you are a fan for leather then the company has something for you as well. Huawei’s flagship smartphone P20 Pro now comes with leather back option and the customers can choose from two colours Elegant Black and Golden Brown.
