MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough says that Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearings on Thursday, where nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford will testify against him, will come down to “who do you believe?”
“It’s going to be a gut instinct,” he said on Monday.
Scarborough has been critical of the way Democrats have handled the sexual assault allegations against the Supreme Court nominee, saying the timing of is questionable. Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California knew of Ford’s account that Kavanaugh groped her at a party nearly 35 years ago since July but decided to release the information days before a confirmation vote.
“They waited until their hearings were over,” Scarborough said on Thursday. “They waited until they basically put their finger up in the political winds and they knew that Kavanaugh was going to pass, and then somebody on the Senate Judiciary Committee, or perhaps out of a Democratic congresswoman’s office said well, ‘it looks like he’s going to pass,’ we’re going to shove this lady out of the closet and basically identify her.”
The Daily Caller News Foundation explains Scarborough’s projections of how the hearings will play out in our latest video. Check out more live-read videos with our reporters and subscribe to TheDCNF’s YouTube channel to make sure you never miss out.
