President Trump is planning to visit the Carolinas on Wednesday to survey the destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Florence, officials said.
Details of Trump’s itinerary while in the hard-hit coastal states were not immediately revealed, but White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the planned tour.
Trump vowed in a press conference before the storm made landfall that the US was as “ready as anybody has ever been” for Florence.
At least 20 people across North and South Carolina have died as of Monday, and many more remain in peril as persistent flash-flooding, the threat of landslides, and widespread power outages plague the area even as Florence has headed north.
