Another celebrity just joked about how great it would be if President Donald Trump was dead.
This time, it was Broadway star Carole Cook.
During an impromptu interview with TMZ, Cook answered a question about an event that had happened during a production of the Broadway show “Frozen.”
In the middle of a curtain call at the end of a show, a Trump supporter in the front row unraveled a “Trump 2020” flag and created a distraction. One of the cast members grabbed the flag and threw it off the stage.
What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro Trump flag?? How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump? The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience. I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform. Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway. I appreciate everyone’s support. #resist #lovewins #lovetrumpshate

In response to this event, many — including the cast member himself — were annoyed that politics was brought into a Broadway show designed for children.
In response to this incident, a photographer for TMZ asked Cook about her thoughts on the incident.
“Where’s John Wilkes Booth when you need him?” Cooke responded.
The TMZ photographer was clearly shocked by the statement, which prompted Cook to ask if he knew who Booth was.
“That’s what you say?” the photographer asked, adding, “I know who John Wilkes Booth is.”
“So we need to kill President Trump?” another nearby reporter asked.
“Why not?” Cook quipped.
Cook is the latest celebrity to joke about Trump’s death, but she isn’t the only celebrity to do so.
Comedian Kathy Griffin infamously took a photograph with a depiction of the president’s decapitated head, and actor Jim Carrey drew a cartoon of someone peeing on Trump’s grave.
Although the statement seemed to shock those listening, Cook seemed excited about the potential backlash from her statement.
“Now, will that get me in trouble? Will I be on an enemies list?” Cook asked.
The reporters and photographers admitted that she will probably face some backlash for joking about a presidential assassination.
“My God, I hope so,” Cook said in response to the affirmation from reporters. “Just keep me out of jail — or maybe not.”
While it is incredibly unlikely that Cook will face criminal punishment for these comments, many were not happy to hear those words:
“You have the right to remain silent.” These are the lines this actress may need to memorize! This is not just sick-it’s a crime. https://t.co/ql5nBbqktv

These hate-filled jokes have become commonplace for some of today’s Hollywood actors. Prior to his infamous assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, Booth was an actor, too.
