Xiaomi ‘s Redmi Note 5 Pro ( review) smartphone could get a new colour variant in India, tomorrow, September 4th. The brand revealed the information on its Twitter handle where it teased a new Red version of its Redmi smartphone. Notably, the red version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is already available for sale in China (where it’s called the Redmi Note 5), so this could be it.
For the uninitiated, the Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in India earlier this year. It currently sells in the country in Black, Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold colour variants. The handset’s specifications include a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 ticking at its core, up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage space. For photography, it features a dual 12MP + 5MP camera setup, while on the front, there’s a 20MP shooter. The handset runs on Android Nougat out of the box and houses a 4,000mAh battery.
It remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will bring the Red colour options to all the Redmi Note 5 Pro configurations or just one. The pricing and availability of the smartphone are not known at the moment; however, we wouldn’t have to wait for long to see that.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has scheduled an event on September 5th in India where it’s expected to launch the Redmi 6 series smartphone.
