Though they already won the World Series Championship, it looks like the Red Sox are facing another challenge in the near future.
Washington Capitals right winger Devante Smith-Pelly threw some shade the Sox’ way following their Game 5 win, replying to a tweet from Toronto Star reporter Bruce Arthur asking whether the Sox will be able to out-party last season’s Stanley Cup Champions.
Smith-Pelly made it clear that he wasn’t hopeful.
The Capitals’ Stanley Cup celebration is somewhat notorious within the NHL, a reputation that is apparently now spreading to other leagues. Though an Ovi-style keg stand out of the Commissioner’s Trophy is a long shot, these Red Sox have proven themselves capable of just about anything during their 119-win season.
And besides, shouldn’t people know better by now than to troll the Red Sox?
