The Fallout 76 PC beta test planned for October 30 is quickly approaching and so Bethesda has released both its minimum and recommended PC system requirements.
Fallout 76‘s launch may yet be weeks away, but the online multiplayer game’s beta events are just gaining speed. With the first phase of the Xbox One beta finished, excited Fallout fans on PC are looking forward to their turn. Bethesda has started the process, releasing Fallout 76‘s beta PC system requirements on Thursday morning. While the requirements aren’t anything severe, they provide a good baseline for PC enthusiasts to evaluate.
Bethesda has provided both the minimum and recommended specifications for the forthcoming Fallout 76 beta. The two share several specific component requirements, with the two significant differences being the CPU and GPU:
Most importantly, the beta will require 60GB of hard drive space for its installation, a substantial size but understandable given that the Fallout 76 beta is technically the full game. Considering Fallout 4‘s installation size on PC was just 30GB, it should be easy to tell just how much larger of an experience Fallout 76 is. For comparison’s sake, the Fallout 76 Xbox One beta is less than 40 GB.
The PC requirements for the Fallout 76 beta are arriving just in time, with the beta set to begin on October 30. The Xbox One beta kicked off first thanks to a partnership between Microsoft and Bethesda, so both PC and PS4 beta players should know what to expect from the test. All prospective beta players, no matter the platform, will have to have pre-ordered the game and received a unique beta code.
It’s important to reinforce that the beta isn’t active at all times; the servers will only be live for 2,4, or 8 hours depending on what needs to be tested. Xbox One beta participants get two more tests (Oct. 27 5-7pm ET and Oct 28 12-2pm ET) before PC and PS4 players get their chance. But Bethesda has decided that all progress made during the beta will carry over into launch.
Fallout 76 releases November 14,2018 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
