IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive release a trailer for the forthcoming stealth-action title Hitman 2, revealing that Sean Bean plays the first elusive target.
It won’t be long now before IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive’s forthcoming stealth-action sequel Hitman 2 will be available, as the title recently went gold just several weeks ago before its November launch. Now, the developer and publisher have decided to reveal the game’s first elusive target that Agent 47 will have to take out, with the baddie being played by none other than the prolific actor, Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings).
As indicated by the trailer below, Sean Bean will be starring as Mark Faba in Hitman 2‘s first Elusive Target mission, The Undying, which officially will become available to players on November 20,2018. Once the mission goes live, players will then have only 10 days afterwards to take out the character.
The backstory on Faba is that he’s an ex-MI5 agent who has become a freelance assassin nicknamed “The Undying” due successfully faking his death on multiple occasions. And with Bean having portrayed multiple characters that have met untimely fates, there’s no doubt that the Hitman 2 Elusive Target’s aforementioned moniker is a reference to the roles that the actor takes.
As it so happens, Hitman 2 won’t be the first video game of this generation that Sean Bean has lent his talents to, as the actor is the narrator of Firaxis and 2K Games’ turn-based strategy title Civilization 6. Of course, it’s safe to presume that Bean’s role won’t be as calm and subdued this time around, especially since players will be tasked with killing off his character.
All things considered, it’s great to see that Sean Bean doesn’t take himself too seriously by showing he can be in on the joke while also effectively portraying the cold-blooded killer he was hired to play at the same time. With this being the case, it seems as if Hitman 2 will be dashing a bit of the series’ trademark dark humor into its macabre world.
Hitman 2 is set to launch on November 13,2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
