The smartphone is powered by a flagship Kirin 980 chipset paired with of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. In terms of optics, the device has a triple camera setup at the back. The sensors include a 20-MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 40-MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, and an 8-MP 3X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has tons of camera-related features. It has a Super HDR Technology that can click shots with ultra wide range exposure. The Huawei Mate 20, as the name suggests, is the cheaper alternative to Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 also runs on the brand’s latest flagship Kirin 980 chipset. To recall, Kirin 980 is the world’s first 7nm chipset which directly competes with Apple’s latest A12 bionic chip. Like the Mate 20 pro, this device also features a triple camera setup at the back. It has a 16-MP ultra wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 12MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the device has a 24-MP snapper on the front.
For security, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has an in-display fingerprint sensor. This sensor is equipped with 10-level Dynamic Pressure Sensing or DPS technology. This technology increases the unlock speed to 30%, brand claimed. Alternatively, it also has a 3D Face Unlock. The cheaper Huawei Mate 20 has a fingerprint sensor on the back and no advance 3D face scanner.
Both the smartphones run the latest version of EMUI 9 on top of Android 9.0 Pie. Huawei Mate 20 sports a 4000mAh battery while the pro variant has slightly bigger 4200 mAh battery.
