It’s pretty hard to say anything about Red Dead Remption 2 Story DLC as of now as RockStar seems to be avoiding it for a long time but still there’s hope.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally upon us. It’s something every fan of single player games is looking forward to. We are getting this sequel after 8 long years but still, there’s no confirmation regarding any additional story content in the game.
CEO of Rockstar, Strauss Zelnick did discuss the importance of single-player campaigns in video games. But that’s something even Rockstar doesn’t give importance to anymore. To be exact, it’s been 5 years since we received any additional single-player content in any RockStar game. Which now has us worried about Red Dead Redemption 2 and its future.
By looking at the last story DLC in a RockStar game. It’s looking very unlikely that we will get any additional story content anytime near after launch.
Strauss Zelnick once said:
Keeping the above statement in mind, RockStar is just avoiding the hard work. It’s cool to include multiplayer in the game but story DLCs do play a big part in the game to increase engagement within in-game characters.
Now if we look back at GTA IV, it brought us amazing additional content like The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. These were received very well by the community and provided us with detailed stories about new characters.
RockStar can definitely do it once again but it doesn’t look to be on their radar for now. Multiplayer is obviously a very profitable business model and that’s why GTA Online is still selling like hotcakes. We will most likely see an additional story DLC down the road when RockStar realizes that it has a great opportunity to prove to everyone that they still care about single player experiences.
Now to see it happen, we will have to wait. Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to release on October 26,2018, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Multiplayer will launch a month after in November.
