Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Fortnite season 6’s Halloween update, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and more have been spinning in GR Towers this week.
It’s going to be a BIG October, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey kicking things off with a 50-hour romp through ancient Greece. The GR team has been digging into Ubisoft’s new open-world adventure along with a few other choice releases this week, including some Halloween treats as we head into this particularly spoopy month.
What have you been playing this week? Let us know in the comments section below!
Paul Tamburro: Thanks to Virgin Media, I am still without internet in my new home. I’ve therefore hooked up my GameCube and have been enjoying the underrated Beach Spikers: Virtua Beach Volleyball. Compared to Dead or Alive Xtreme it’s a pretty straight-faced beach volleyball game, though the women occasionally touch each other’s bottoms after they’ve scored a point. I’m not quite sure why they do that, but 2001 was a different time, I guess.
Mack Ashworth: After my vacation last week, I’ve been catching up on the goings-on within Fortnite. A lot can happen in a week, and now the world looks a whole lot different. Season 6 includes Halloween content, so I’m expecting things to soon get very spooky!
Alleef Ashaari: I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for the past few days. It plays almost identical to last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, but I’m definitely more invested in the protagonist and narrative this time around. The newly-added dialogue choices have made for hilarious outcomes in several sidequests, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store in this Greek adventure.
Jason Onorad: In the spirit of this haunting season, I have been playing a new indie horror game called The Conjuring House. It tasks you with going to a deserted mansion and finding survivors of a paranormal investigation team. I love it because it is filled with demon lore, a great haunted house story, genuine scares, and reminds me of the original Resident Evil a bit with its puzzle and progression mechanics.
Alex Santa Maria: I’m finally cracking into Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One X. The 4K HDR looks stunning, even if the game is comfortably similar to the last entry.
Doug Borghese: Elite Dangerous on PS4. I’m prepping for the Beyond Chapter 4 update coming out near the end of 2018. Running trade and transport missions to have enough credits in my wallet for whatever expensive modules I’ll need to deck out my Anaconda with.
Daryl Baxter: Dragon Ball FighterZ on Switch. I loved playing it on PS4, but on Switch, with all the DLC characters bought, I love it even more. So much fun. It’s fast, challenging, frustrating, engaging, all at once.
