The video game publisher and developer Bethesda pens a letter to Fallout 76 fans, telling them that new Vaults, Faction-based PvP, and more will come post-launch.
It won’t be too much longer until Fallout 76 fans are able to dive into the West Virginian wastelands of Bethesda’s online-only multiplayer title, with the post-apocalyptic RPG set to become available in less than two days from now. While the majority of would-be Vault Dwellers who missed out of the game’s beta are simply ready to explore all that the base content has to offer upon release, Bethesda still wants to assure everyone that even more content is planned to come down the pike post-launch.
As seen in the tweet below from the official Bethesda Game Studios Twitter account, the publisher and developer decided to pen a letter to Fallout 76 fans that not only thanks those who worked on the game and the fans ready to play it, but also promises new Vaults, Faction-based PvP, character respecing, and more is set for the future. However, the company didn’t provide a date as to when players should expect such features to arrive.
This news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to Fallout 76 fans, for after all, Bethesda has previously stated that it intends to support the game “forever” with post-launch content. That said, though, it’s good to see that the studio is giving fans a better idea as to what kind of DLC they should expect after the game’s release later this week, especially considering that Fallout 76 will basically be adopting the ever-growing “games-as-a-service” distribution model.
Speaking of which, Bethesda has also declared that all of Fallout 76‘s post-launch content will be free to everyone who already owns a copy of the game, as the company intends to fund the creation and release of DLC with revenue from microtransactions. So, taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see what all else the studio has planned for the game, and if its experiment in releasing the Fallout franchise’s first-ever multiplayer title will pay off for both fans and Bethesda alike.
Fallout 76 releases on November 14,2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
