Awkward family fights are common at the Thanksgiving table, but Jordan Rodgers — Aaron Rodgers’ brother and a former Bachelorette contestant — is once again taking his family’s awkward feud public.
On Wednesday, Aaron released a video on Twitter, asking for financial support for those families affected by the wildfires that have swept through his home state of California. He is donating $1 million to help fire victims recover.
A few hours after Aaron’s tweet, Jordan sent a tweet of his own, writing: « PLEASE DONATE, SPREAD AWARENESS & SEND LOVE. But when your own Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate, & you miss the fundamental first step of compassion; calling your parents to make sure they are safe…. Everything else just feels like an act. »
Aaron’s rift with his family has been a story for years, but the Packers quarterback hasn’t shared much about it. Jordan, however, has discussed the family’s issues many times, and it became a plot point during his season on The Bachelorette in 2016. Aaron clearly didn’t appreciate his brother speaking publicly about their family.
In a 2016 interview with People, Aaron made his feelings clear.
« As far as those kinds of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition, » he told the magazine.
So don’t expect Aaron to respond to Jordan’s criticism. At least not publicly.
