The Idea of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was first announced in 2015 as a third party studio development. CyberConnect2 took part in this development. But last year, the development process was handed over to Square Enix.

In a recent interview at Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura clarified some misunderstanding about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s development.
Last weekend, during the Dissidia Final Fantasy third anniversary event, Tetsuya Nomura take this opportunity and addressed some of the misconceptions about the remake of the game.
