Google Pixel 3 issues don’t seem to catch a break. From overheating problems to issues with audio quality, this clearly hasn’t been the steadiest Pixel launch. And now users are complaining of yet another problem with the smartphone’s display. Reports are coming from Reddit, indicating that the Pixel 3 has a display flickering issue, which could be related to its ambient display. According to the complaints, the issue is causing certain parts of the phone’s display to suddenly light up while the rest of it stays dark. It’s basically flashing white light from certain sections of the display.
One Reddit user has even uploaded a video of his Pixel 3 with Ambient display enabled, where one can clearly see the flickering issue. He mentions in the post that this issue began three weeks after the device was purchased. Similar reports have also been emerging on Google’s product forums, which suggests the issue is more widespread than originally imagined. Anyway, Google it seems has been quick to respond, not in terms of an official statement but in replacing the affected units, something that has been corroborated by some of the affected users. Additionally, the search engine giant has acknowledged the disappearing text issue on Pixel phones, which was reported yesterday and has promised to release a fix soon. “We recently discovered a bug affecting SMS/MMS on a small number of Pixel 3s and are rolling out a fix soon,” a company spokesperson said.
