HMD Global has a new Nokia phone for you to feast your eyes on. It’s called the Nokia 106, and it’s considered a sequel to the 2013 model.
Pitched as a budget feature phone, the Nokia 106 features a 1.8-inch (160×120-pixel) display. HMD, oddly, highlights that the phone can store up to 2,000 contacts and up to 500 SMS messages, and says the battery lasts “from sunrise to sunset with one charge » – or, about 15.7 hours in active use and 21.9 days when on standby. If you use just its built-in FM radio, you can get 36 hours of use. HMD
The 106 runs Nokia’s Series 30+ software, has a MTK 6261D CPU, 4MB of storage, and 4MG of RAM, and it weighs just over 70g. Other features include a 800mAh battery, a Micro USB charger, a headphone jack, and an LED flash on the rear. Classic games like Snake, Nitro Racing, Danger Dash, and Tetris, among others, also come pre-loaded on the phone.
You can even see Snake in action in the phone’s press materials above.
Lastly, the Nokia 106 supports dual SIM cards. In terms of pricing and availability, it costs 1,590 Russian rubles (roughly £18) and will be available in Russia this month. It’s only available in Dark Grey.
It’s also expected to come to India. We’re not sure if it will ever come to the UK.
