Kingdom Hearts 3 development is finally over, and the game is on track for its January 25,2019 release date according to a recent tweet.
Some of the best words that any Kingdom Hearts fan could ever hear have just been uttered by Tetsuya Nomura, the head of development on the game. According to a recent statement on the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter, Kingdom Hearts 3 development is now over, and the game is on track for release.
Kingdom Hearts 3 has become one of those running gags with many players as to when or if it would ever come out. Considering the first game came out 16 years ago, with innumerable side games between sequels and a convoluted story, the fact that the game is actually now finally finished and there’s no reason to delay it any more is a great thing to hear.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will, possibly, be wrapping up an entire series nearly 20 years in the making, as Sora, Donald, and Goofy once again travel to various worlds in the Disney universe to put a stop to the evil machinations of Organization XIII and their leader, Xehanort. At the same time, other story threads will be rejoining the main group, including what happened to Aqua after Birth By Sleep and A Fragmentary Passage, Kairi, Sora, and Riku all finally reuniting, and more.
Players that have been following Kingdom Hearts 3 development are likely familiar with the wide variety of worlds both old and new that we’ll be visiting, ranging from the Hundred-Acre Wood and the Caribbean, to places like San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6, the Kingdom of Corona from Tangled, and the Kingdom of Arendelle from Frozen.
Along with a variety of new Disney characters, gamers can also expect to see more Square Enix characters popping up, as Final Fantasy characters continue to make appearances.
With Kingdom Hearts 3 development over, players can expect to see the game releasing on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 on January 25 of next year.
