Sony reveals its planned deals for Black Friday Week, including sales on a PlayStation 4 Spider-Man bundle, PlayStation VR, and DualShock controllers.
Black Friday, North America’s major November sales event, is less than two weeks away, and PlayStation is ready to share its plans. Today, Sony unveiled its deals planned for this year with a selection of great discounts that will be made available for the entire week of the 2018 holiday shopping event. Low prices on PlayStation products including a PS4 Spider-Man bundle, controllers, and PlayStation VR will start on November 16 and run through November 26.
Sony’s Black Friday week plans feature just three hardware related deals, as follows:
Both the DualShock 4 controller and PlayStation VR headset sales may be limited by retailer.
There’s more planned for Black Friday Week beyond those three deals, however. Sony is also planning a big sale on a PlayStation Plus 12-month subscription, as well as big deals on a variety of popular PlayStation games via the PlayStation Store. Those sales will go live starting November 16 and will be revealed at a later date. For those looking for an early deal, starting today, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is being discounted by 20%, bringing it down to $47.99 on the PlayStation Store.
For those curious as to whether today’s reveal by Sony entails the entirety of PlayStation’s plans for Black Friday, that remains unclear. Near the end of Sony’s reveal, a final statement reading, “Be sure to stay tuned for more details to be confirmed soon,” hints at something more. That more may be the line-up of individual game sales planned for next week or it could imply additional hardware sales as-yet-unannounced.
Specifically, there’s a notable absence of sales for the day of Black Friday itself. That doesn’t necessarily mean there will be day-of Black Friday sales, as more and more marketplaces prefer to spread sales out over a longer period of time, but it’s still notable. There’s also a lack of a PlayStation Pro sale that may or may not be indicative of more sales announcements in days leading up to Black Friday. Of course, individual retailers will have their own unique deals for Black Friday, so consumers should still keep an eye out for what they want.
PlayStation’s Black Friday Week deals go live starting November 16 at participating retailers and will last through November 26.
