Tone-Deaf Washington Only Team Willing To Claim Rueben Foster From 49ers

The WashingtonRedskins were the only team to put in a claim for Reuben Foster after the 49ers cut him loose. That right there is not only a testament to Foster’s reputation, but to Washington’s tone-deafness.

Washington was the only team that wanted anything to do with Reuben Foster after he was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
The 49ers dismissed the linebacker Sunday following a Saturday night arrest at their team hotel in Tampa, Florida. Less than 24 hours before San Francisco was set to play the Buccaneers, Foster allegedly got into a verbal altercation with Elissa Ennis,  » slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face, » according to Tampa Police, via ESPN. Police added that Ennis had a 1-inch scratch on her left collarbone.
Foster and Ennis have been on and off again for three years, per the police report. On Feb. 11, Foster was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and possession of an assault rifle. The domestic violence charge was dropped in May when Ennis recanted her allegations, but Foster pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge. He received two years of probation; he cannot possess firearms during this time.
