On the list this week: A British comedy, a deadly game of cat and mouse, and more.
It’s a tale as old as time — a charming criminal and a zealous investigator chase one another, with each trying to uncover the other’s identity first. In Killing Eve, the criminal is Villanelle (Jodie Comer), a psychopathic assassin leaving a trail of bodies across Europe. Hunting her is Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh), a British intelligence agent whose superiors don’t believe her theory that the assassin is a woman. Eve and Villanelle pursue each other, possessed by mutual obsession. Killing Eve is a fascinating game of cat and mouse, built around a pair of complicated, memorable characters. It helps that the show is developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, whose previous works (such as Fleabag) are rich in psychological complexity.

Sick Note begins with Daniel (Rupert Grint of the Harry Potter films) having a pretty bad day. His girlfriend wants to break up and kicks him out of their flat, he’s failing at his job, and to cap it all off, his doctor (Nick Frost) has diagnosed him with cancer.
