There are quite a few challenging hoops you’ll need to jump through to access the Volundr Forge in Destiny 2: Black Armory.
The majority of the activities in Black Armory require a Power level of at least 595 – 600 to do any real damage, as the Power cap has been raised to 650 in Season of the Forge. The level requirement was lowered by five points over the last week as many players felt Black Amory was inaccessible due to its high Power recommendations.
Whilst it is possible to do this solo, playing as part of a Fireteam seems the best way to Power through the various Milestones to reach the Forge. Volundr is guarded by enemies who are between 610 to 630 Power, so you might want to get back to the grind first to find some more gear.
You can check out our guide on how to boost your Power level to 650 here. As this is all endgame content, you have plenty of time to find and reignite the Forges in Black Armory, so don’t worry about missing out.
The Forges were cut off from the Black Armory some time ago, and your Guardian is tasked with finding and restoring them. To begin Black Armory, you’ll need to visit your old pal Spider in The Tangled Shore. He’ll mention that some old friends need a hand and give you a Black Armory Badge to show to Ada-1 to gain some of her trust.
After speaking with Ada-1, she’ll give you a quest step called Basic Machine Gun Frame. You’ll have to find a Weapon Core from a Black Armory Crate and collect 25 Compound Ether.
