The late President George H. W. Bush will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda early next week, congressional leaders announced Saturday.
Leaders of the House and Senate said that a bicameral arrival ceremony will be held Monday evening. The public will be able to pay their respects until Wednesday morning.
Gerald Ford was the last president to lie in state following his death in 2006. The late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who died in August, also lied in state in the Rotunda.
