First Peek: New Lenovo IdeaPad, IdeaCentre PCs Roll Out at MWC 2019

At MWC, Lenovo is showing off new consumer laptops under the IdeaPad brand, including an inexpensive 2-in-1 convertible, as well as a spiffy all-in-one, the IdeaCentre A340. Here’s a look.
At MWC 2019 in Barcelona, Lenovo is rolling back the curtain on several new consumer PCs slated to drop in April, including a new laptop convertible that’ll start at just $449. Here’s a rundown of the models; we expect to be reviewing many of these budget-minded machines in the coming months.
IdeaPad C340: Low-Cost 2-in-1 in Intel, AMD Flavors
The convertible, the IdeaPad C340, features a rotating hinge so you can transform the touchscreen-fitted laptop into different positions, including a tablet. It’ll be available in two sizes, a 14-inch model starting at $449.99, and a 15-inch model, which will start at $499.

In addition, you can configure the 14-inch unit to run with an 8th Generation Intel Core U-series processor, a Pentium processor, or an AMD Ryzen Mobile chip. The laptop also has the option to support the new Nvidia GeForce MX230 dedicated GPU, as well as up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. The Ryzen versions would use AMD’s integrated Radeon RX Vega graphics.
As for ports, the IdeaPad C340 has two USB 3.1 Type-A ports and a single USB 3.1 Type-C. Interested customers can add other features such as a fingerprint reader, a backlit keyboard, and Lenovo’s Active Pen.
However, the product’s low price could come with some sacrifices depending on the config.
