ALBANY– Gov. Andrew Cuomo — who has denounced President Trump’s tax overhaul as an economic disaster for New York — came up as one of the winners under the new system, according to tax returns the governor made public Monday.
The returns showed that Cuomo paid $51,925 in state and federal taxes on an adjusted gross income of $211,289 in 2018, a federal tax rate of or 18.5 percent.
The year before — 2017– he paid $54,659 in taxes on an income of $212,776, or 19.6 percent.
The difference was $2,734 extra in Cuomo’s bank account.
“He’s typical of a lot of affluent suburbanites who may surprised to find they are actually not getting gauged under the tax law,” said E.
