SAN DIEGO, California – Police are still trying to ascertain the full facts behind the shooting at a syagogue in Poway, north of San Diego in California on Saturday.
A teenager, 19-year old John Earnest is in custody charged with bursting into the synagogue during a Passover celebration and shooting dead a woman, and wounding three others.
U. S. President Donald Trump has described the attack as a « hate crime. »
The alleged perpetrator apparently posted a letter on the online forum 8chan in the hours leading up to the attack, saying he was inspired by the attack on two Christchurch mosques last month which killed fifty people, as well as a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue 6 months ago which took the lives of 11 people.
