WEST PALM BEACH — Additional demonstrations calling for justice in the death of George Floyd took place Tuesday in West Palm Beach, two days after a daylong protest ended in violent confrontations.
The rally began at 3 p.m. outside West Palm Beach City Hall amid a heavy police presence. Nearby, the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller offices at the county governmental center and county courthouse will close early at 2:30 p.m., also because of reported protests, the agency said.
Fifteen miles south, another protest also is planned in Boynton Beach, following one Tuesday near Interstate 95. Both a Boynton protest and another near Town Center at Boca Raton took place mostly without incident.
Boca Raton police said Tuesday the last 30 or so of the demonstrators at Town Center went home at about 11 p.
