June 26 (UPI) — Two NASA astronauts conducted a spacewalk Friday to replace lithium ion batteries outside of the International Space Station.
Astronauts Chris Cassidy and Robert Behnken began the spacewalk at 7:32 a.m. EDT. It is expected to last about seven hours.
The event is being streamed live.
A mirror on Cassidy’s wrist became detached as he exited the space station’s hatch early in the spacewalk, but NASA said it did not pose a hazard and the walk continued.
