Social Distancing Slowed Down The Spread of COVID-19 In The US: Study

The study estimated that over 600,000 cases in the US were reduced within three weeks after implementation
According to the study, all 50 states along with the District of Columbia implemented at least one statewide measure of physical distancing between March 10 and March 25 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Mark J Siedner, author of the study, said in a statement, « Many have strongly suspected that physical distancing policies helped interrupt Covid-19 transmission during the early days of the US epidemic. » He added, « This study adds clear evidence to support those suspicions. The results show the timing of government-issued orders correlated strongly with reductions in both cases and deaths. » For the results, the research team analyzed data from the first five months of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US.
