Former President Jimmy Carter is turning 96 years old on Thursday. Carter, president from 1977 to 1981, plans to celebrate his birthday in Plains, Georgia, at his home with his wife, according to The Associated Press. He is the longest living U.S. president. Carter survived cancer after being diagnosed in 2015. Even after suffering from a fall in late 2019, Carter was out the next day in Tennessee helping to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.
