Robert O’Brien said the U.S. has had “peaceful successful transitions” even during “contentious” elections.
The National Security Council will facilitate a “very professional transition” between administrations, Trump’s National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien said at the Global Security Forum on Monday, noting it appears President-elect Joe Biden won despite President Trump’s refusal to concede. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also said there will be a “smooth transition” but, unlike O’Brien, he confidently said last week that the transition will be to the next Trump administration.
