Beacon Hill is on alert after two state representatives and a joint staffer for the House and the Senate tested positive for COVID-19, according to emails from House Speaker Robert DeLeo obtained by the Herald that warned more cases could follow.
Beacon Hill is on alert after two state representatives and a joint staffer for the House and the Senate tested positive for COVID-19, according to emails from House Speaker Robert DeLeo obtained by the Herald that warned more cases could follow. DeLeo sent an email to House members and staff Friday night alerting them that two state representatives had received positive test results that day. The representatives, who DeLeo didn’t identify, were last at the State House on Thursday. Any members or employees who were reported as close contacts on either Tuesday or Thursday have been notified, DeLeo said. The House chamber and all offices used by the representatives will undergo a thorough cleaning.
