An estimated 29,692 new cases of the virus have been recorded in the last 14 days.
The Orange County Health Care Agency reported 2,594 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday, Dec.18, increasing the cumulative total in the county to 116,377 cases since tracking began. The county also reported 1,557 patients in local hospitals with the coronavirus on Friday – up by 38 from Thursday’s report. There were 358 patients listed in ICUs on Friday. ICU capacity is dwindling in Southern California. The percentages here have been adjusted by state public health officials to represent the high levels of COVID-19 patients among all ICU patients. More actual beds may be available.
