Coronavirus in Cincinnati: Rate of new COVID-19 cases now at three-month low

The rate of new COVID-19 cases in the Cincinnati region last week was the lowest since early November, when infections rocketed up before hitting a pandemic high in early December. Exposures linked to the Christmas holiday drove cases up again but have kept falling since then, an Enquirer analysis of Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 tracking project shows. Meanwhile, the region neared 1,400 deaths last week. Using a multiplier developed by researchers at three North American universities, another 12,300 people (the children, grandchildren, parents and siblings of the dead) have been touched by the pandemic.
